RESEARCH ACCOUNTS & LOCAL CONTROLS

Your account. Your research choices.

The public preview is open to everyone. Email verification, membership approval and the Research Preview List use the dedicated piPhotonic Firebase project; simulation inputs remain in your browser.

01

Email verification and account access

When you request a sign-in code, the authentication service processes your email and ordinary request information, including an IP-based rate limit. A short-lived code verifies that you control the email address. Firebase Authentication maintains your account and session, and Firestore stores your verified identity, membership level, status and approval history. Only approved research accounts can retrieve the full paper and selected research downloads. Server access rules protect these records; staff and owner account tools have restricted access.

02

Research Preview List consent

The preview signup records your explicit opt-in, consent version and time after successful email verification. Joining is free and does not create a payment or subscription. The list is for research preview updates. Contact research@piphotonic.com to withdraw your consent or request account-data help. Donations and payment processing are not connected in this edition. Local emulator sessions use a private test outbox and send no real email.

03

Preferences on this device

The reading control stores text size, spacing, contrast, and motion choices in browser local storage. These settings help the site remember your preferences and are not sent by the application to a project service. You can reset them in the panel or clear browser site data.

04

Examples reading choices and calculations

Examples computes its teaching scenarios locally. Reading range and view are optional presentation choices, not a request for your birth date. These choices appear in the page URL so the explanation can be bookmarked or shared, and may appear in ordinary request information when that URL is loaded. Edited measurement inputs stay in the active page state. Mathematical rendering uses locally served fonts and does not send formulas to an external rendering service.

05

Explorer, Watch, process engine, and research notes

Synthetic contours are generated and measured locally. The process engine also calculates its timeline, camera, fourth-coordinate embedding, and projections locally; these controls stay in the active page state. Gold-sphere Watch prepares its original points, vectors, cumulative lengths, paired sphere results, and JSON/CSV downloads in your browser; the application does not upload the run. The research-note workspace holds your typed note only in the active page state. Choosing Open email draft passes the note to your mail application through an email link. You review and send the email there; this site does not submit it to a server or save it to an account.

07

Website delivery and session storage

The production website is hosted by Firebase Hosting for piphotonic.com and its Firebase domains. Hosting, authentication, database and mail services process ordinary service information to deliver the website, verify sign-in and enforce access. Firebase stores sign-in state in this browser until you sign out or clear site data. Reading preferences remain local. Private research downloads are not stored in a persistent application cache. Signing out removes application access and revokes active temporary download URLs; it cannot remove a file you already saved.
