READ IN YOUR OWN WAY
A clearer path through the research.
piPhotonic includes keyboard navigation, text equivalents for visual experiments, and reading controls you can adjust on this device.
Reading preferences
Choose larger text, relaxed line or letter spacing, high contrast, and reduced motion in the bottom-right panel. Settings are saved in your browser on this device. Reset preferences restores the defaults. The site also respects your system’s reduced-motion preference.
Rendered mathematics and Examples
Formulas use typeset mathematical notation with MathML and verbal labels. Long display formulas scroll within their own keyboard-focusable blocks. Examples offers seven optional reading ranges and Basic, Advanced, Scientific and Galaxy views; every reading range can use every view. Editable teaching inputs update the ratio, its assumed bounds, a comparison plot and a readable table. The plot is accompanied by numerical values and descriptions.
Text alongside the graphic
The contour explorer, 4D process engine, and gold-sphere Watch provide labeled controls and text for path length, sampled diameter, ratio, and closure state. Watch defaults to an orthographic 2D x–z measurement plane with equal millimetre axes, alongside its 3D and 4D views. Camera controls are disabled in the 2D plane. Watch places live equations and substitutions beside the scene, keeps each stage’s defining equation visible in a calculation ledger, and supports individual sample steps. Comparison tables scroll within labeled, keyboard-focusable regions on narrow screens. Focus the engine scene and use arrow keys to orbit, or use its camera sliders. Stage buttons and the timeline work with reduced motion; automatic playback is disabled when that preference is active. Touch orbit is optional so the page can scroll normally. Selected evidence figures have captions and supporting data downloads.
